The Ye Mystic Nautilus of the Krewe
Our Story
In 2003, our two founders, Minesh and Leslie, ask each other if they should start their own krewe. The questions was an easy one to pose. They had tirelessly searched for a group that shared their interests, to particpate in and promote Florida conservation and awareness of our beaches and oceans. The passion for beach life was born of frequent visist to Key West and listening to endless tracks of Jimmy Buffet with the occasional sunset beer toast! Not only did the search dictate the love of our oceans and beaches, but it had to be family friendly bringing families of different interests to a common cause…have fun and have fun with the environment! So our two founders found a cadre of founding members, Russ, Kari, Derek, Tien and Mark with a gaggle of charter members and the Ye Mystic Krewe of the Nautilus was born!
Our Founding
We are the Ye Mystic Krewe of the Nautilus. Founded on March 17, 2003, a Tampa Bay Area group, the Nautilites are a family oriented group, open to singles and families. Our goal is to promote environmental awareness and conservation through participation – have fun with the environment.
Our Mission
Our mission is to promote Florida environmental awareness and conservation through friendly partnerships, education, charity sponsorship and community service. We volunteer and participate in various clean-up and reef projects in the Tampa Bay area. We also raise funds for the Florida Aquarium and the 1 Voice Foundation in order to enhance current programs for children with specific medical ailments. And to pay homage to our muse, we plan trips to Key West to visit environmentally proctected and senstive areas and toast the sunset!
Our Cause
In order to make good on our mission, we have partnered up wth the Florida Aquarium and the 1 Voice Foundation. The Florida Aquarium provided our members with volunteer, clean-up and educational opportunities. We raise money for specific Florida Aquarium projects and for developing programs for the 1 Voice Foundation, which will bring the aquarium resources to the children and famlies of the foundation, where programs and encounters are specifically designed to help children who have been stricken with terminal illness enjoy environment appreciation in a safely.
