Join us for the Mayor's 22st Annual Hillsborough River & Waterways Cleanup which is scheduled for Saturday, November 21st, 2009. Registration will start at 8:30AM and the cleanup will begin at 9:00AM. We'll be working at our adopted Cypress Point park, but more than 1200 volunteers are needed to clean and restore shorelines of 25 sites around the Hillsborough River and connected waterways.
All supplies and refreshments are provided, but we recommend that you bring your own gloves and water in case supplies run short. Insect repellant, sunscreen and hats are also recommended as well as closed-toed shoes.
WHEN SIGNING UP PLEASE INCLUDE:
- Your t-shirt size.
- If your kids need letters showing community service hours.
Cypress Park Directions:
- Exit I-275 at Westshore, head North (Towards International Mall).
- Turn Left at the first light onto Cypress .
- Follow Cypress to the very end, turn left into Bay West Commerce Park.
- Go over the speed bumps and go straight into the park entrance.
- Park and walk to the Gazebo.
After the cleanup, we'll head to The Press Box sports restaurant for lunch. Any child 12 and under will get a free lunch compliments of the Krewe. The Press Box is located at 222 S. Dale Mabry Hwy (876-3528).
