KREWE OF THE NAUTILUS
WILDERNESS PARK CANOE TRIP
JANUARY 16TH, 2005
When: Sunday 16th January, 2005
Time: 11AM
Meet: Canoe Escape (on the right approx 1/2 mile East of I-75 on Fowler Avenue)
Canoe Escape is located opposite the Big Top Flea Market
Look out for the Black Yukon with a Kayak rack on top
Bring: Sense of adventure, water, soft drinks, snacks, lunch, sunscreen/lip balm,
Hat, sunglasses. eyeglass strap/cord, shoes you don't mind getting wet,
non-styrofoam cooler, dry bag or box (all optional, not required), CAMERA!
Cost: $23.50 per person for a Tandem canoe or kayak (2 paddler min charge)
$40.00 for a solo canoe or kayak
Shuttle fee, paddles, and life vests fee are included in rental price.
Non-Krewe members are more than welcome to come along as well
Details:
Our trip will meander along the Hillsborough River through a diverse ecosystem.
The trip is downstream.
Approximate paddling time will vary with your paddling proficiency, weather conditions, and the water level.
However, having made this run many times before, a comfortable (very easy) paddling time is around 4 to 4.5 hours including breaks.
